An app for emergency warnings and advice for floods, tsunamis and fires in NSW

The Hazards Near Me app shows current information about local emergencies, including flood, bushfires and tsunamis, and advice on what to do to stay safe. The app can send push notifications when there are new incidents or when information changes. The NSW Flood Inquiry identified the need for a consolidated approach and single app for hazard warnings.

Achievements

Real time access to critical hazard information during emergency events.

More than 4 million NSW residents have downloaded the previously named RFS Fires Near Me app, making it a trusted source of bush fire information and warnings.

Engagement

In partnership with NSW RFS and NSW SES, the HazardWatch team have facilitated a single view of both fire and flood information and warnings to ensure people have the latest information to make informed decisions and stay safe during an emergency event.
