Cyber security awareness is important in protecting our digital systems and services across NSW Government and local councils. 80 percent of all successful cyber-attacks occur due to the 'human element'.
Cyber Security NSW is working to reduce the impact and spread of cyber security incidents that target NSW Government via 'The Essentials' cyber security awareness training. The training sessions are being delivered via face-to-face online delivery. Cyber Security NSW is providing leadership and coordination across all departments and agencies in NSW Government to reduce the likelihood, impact and spread of cyber-attacks on NSW Government.
By early May 2020, over 500 staff from across NSW Government, councils and universities had received this training. Attendees have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback. The virtual delivery has been well-received and has allowed Cyber Security NSW to reach NSW Government staff and across the state, including regional areas, all coming direct to participants from Cyber Security NSW staff members'lounge rooms and home offices.
