Previously firefighters were expected to look up volumes of printed, and at times out of date materials while on their way to an emergency. They were unable to quickly and accurately access critical information. The ;Automated Decision Aid System for Hazardous Incidents Program (ADASHI) has now completely transformed this scenario.
This new digital program is enabling frontline NSW firefighters, senior commanders and other emergency services personnel to digitally manage emergencies and collaborate with each other in real time at any location. This has been achieved on different devices including smartphones, tablets and in-vehicle computers, thereby empowering emergency services personnel to digitally respond to emergencies anytime and anywhere.
With the help of this initiative, firefighters are now provided with greater quality information to support their tactical and strategic decisions, thereby leading to a quicker conclusion of an emergency. It has also improved the safety of firefighters by improving situational awareness and emergency record keeping.
