We are at an inflection point in government, where digital services move from the periphery to the primary way customers interact with us.
To support this seismic shift away from bricks and mortar to smart, simple, and seamless services we need strong digital foundations.
State Digital Assets (SDA) and the policy that underpins them will build these foundations, so connected services can prosper. SDAs are the building blocks for enabling proactive services, when and where customers need them the most.
We are very proud to have launched the initial release of SDA’s and have begun the important process of drafting a whole of government reuse policy. We invite you to view what’s available for State Digital Assets and the program roadmap on digital.nsw.
There are many benefits to the state and our customers through enacting a reuse policy and increasing the adoption of SDAs.
Customers will enjoy improved connected services, with better personalisation and tailoring of services to their needs. Increased resiliency and responsiveness of services during times of hardship, is another key benefit of SDAs. Overall customer experience of government digital services will be improved through the adoption of SDAs.
The state as a whole will benefit through an increase in productivity and efficiency via a strategic focus on whole of government value domains. State Digital Assets are already delivering benefits through modern licensing, website consolidation and consolidated financial systems, collectively forecasted to deliver over $1 billion in benefits over the coming years. And this is only the beginning.
Next steps for the program are to draft a whole of government reuse policy. The reuse policy will codify what is required to run SDAs and give confidence to agencies who utilise them that SDA’s are assured, and meet industry standard service levels.
NSW is a global leader in digital transformation and delivery of digital services to our customers, State Digital Assets pave the way to keep us at the forefront of exemplary customer service. We look forward to the future where SDAs are commonplace and elevate the productivity and customer experience for everyone in NSW.
