Formerly, it was difficult to obtain government datasets for research and analysis by industries and businesses. Open Data Hub is changing the landscape by providing transport open data for research, analysis and development purposes for use by anyone.
This supports evidence-based policy making, policy research, and promotes an open & transparent government. This is further contributing to the digital economy in NSW by promoting the development of new business and industries through the use of government data.
The Open Data Hub now has a community of over 20,000 users and the data has been accessed more than 4 billion times. Transport for NSW impressed everyone with their efforts and won the Smart City Award in the 'Best Data as an Enabler Initiative' category.
