We're excited to have released our second update for the Beyond Digital Strategy. The strategy is designed as a living document and a strategic product that will be updated regularly.
What is a minor release and why did we do it?
Beyond Digital Strategy works on a planned regular release cycle, with one major release per year. During each cycle, we review if there is sufficient content to warrant a major release.
Having regular releases also drives transparency, which is key to making government more effective and inclusive. In this minor release we have updated key statistics, published success stories and other information to keep Beyond Digital up to date.
We have updates on the Economic Blueprint and the NSW Government Customer Priorities Roadmap, additionally we have new statistics around MyServiceNSW accounts and the success of the Digital Driver's License.
Our response to COVID-19 pandemic
We are living in unsettling times with COVID-19 pandemic. It is a public health crisis we've never encountered before. NSW Government has been proactively responding to the pandemic to support customers, partners and businesses in New South Wales. The government's rapid and broad response saw all departments respond to a varying degree. We've published 17 new success stories that directly relate to NSW Government's response to COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the published stories are:
- Automated Patient Result Notification: Automated SMS service securely and quickly delivering COVID-19 results to patients.
- Learning from Home Hub: Teaching and learning resources to support K-12 students in at school or remote learning in NSW.
- COVID-19 NSW Heat Map: COVID-19 NSW Heat map to access information about the situation now.
Beyond the minor release
We are tirelessly looking for ways to improve Beyond Digital and have earmarked several sections for product development. We use a human centred design approach when developing the products and will consult users of Beyond Digital when designing future enhancements. This approach is embodied in the NSW Design System, that endeavours to make products and services more relevant to users.
Some areas that we are investigating to improve are strategy in action and 10-year plans. Our major release is coming up in late 2020. Stay tuned for more details.
