Spatial Services has rapidly developed and launched a COVID-19 Operations Dashboard to support government agencies during COVID-19 pandemic. The dashboard provides operational insights to support situational awareness and decision making during the global pandemic.
The dashboard and its underlying data feeds are being used extensively by the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), Service NSW, Office of Emergency Management, Ambulance NSW, Transport for NSW, and multiple other agencies to allow them to make informed decisions and mitigate impacts on their service and the community.
The dashboard is dynamically updated daily, combining data sourced from NSW Health, SEOC, and the Australian Department of Health. It includes statistics and graphs, in a simple visual overview, with interactive tabs for those that require a more detailed insight.
Area specific statistics dynamically interact with the map, by zooming to the area. Map initially displays testing clinics, virus departments and active cases, however numerous other layers can be selected, displaying an assortment of COVID-19 data, including world data.
The dashboard acts as a visual and spatial executive summary for the variety of authoritative data sources. It allows for a rapid and informed assessment of the pandemic situation. In addition, feeds from the dashboard can be plugged into any existing operational platform, as used by Transport for NSW, for department specific customisation. Overall, the dashboard is assisting NSW Government agencies by providing a clear and concise picture of the COVID-19 situation.
