NSW Digital ID allows customers to securely store and use their credentials to verify their identity online and in-person. ​

Using advanced technologies, NSW Digital ID ensures privacy and ease of use, giving individuals full control over their digital identity.

Achievements

The NSW Government is working hard to deliver a convenient, secure and private digital identity solution for our customers across NSW, supported by a trusted technology foundation and legislative framework.

Engagement

The NSW Digital ID is being piloted with small customer groups to test its functionality and gather feedback for future improvements before a wider rollout. ‘Have Your Say’ consultations on digital identity received over 6,300 responses, showing that customers want control over their information, the ability to choose when to share it, and prefer to opt-in each time. Privacy, cybersecurity, and fraud prevention are viewed as the most important benefits.​
