Blockquotes give prominence to a section of text quoted from another source.
Blockquotes are indented with a highlight colour of NSW Primary Red.
<blockquote> These new requirements will promote responsible cat and dog breeding and selling by allowing relevant agencies to identify and deal with problem breeders <cite>Mr Marshall</cite> </blockquote>
A blockquote shows users a quote or text from an outside source.
The blockquote provides visual prominence to your quote by indenting the text and drawing attention to it with a highlight colour on the left side.
The blockquote element is an HTML tag used to define quotations.
Only use blockquote to show a quotation.
This could be a quote from somewhere else, like a customer testimonial that goes with a case study or project success story.
Provide a citation to the external source and, if available, the URL.
When not to use
Using it improperly can confuse your users.
Do not use it to create an indented effect or to draw a user's attention.
The highlight bar can be changed to your brand colour, if brand exemption has been approved.
You will need to change the nsw-primary-highlight colour in the _settings.scss file.
