COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted and impacted all areas of our lives, including staying active and working out. Staying Active is critical and essential for both our physical and mental health. In a joint NSW Government initiative, the Office of Sport and the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) have developed a range of online resources to help communities stay active during the coronavirus pandemic.
Staying Active provides a range of resources developed by industry experts for all ages and abilities. The page has generated over 15,000 unique views since its inception. With Sport and Recreation Centres unable to take bookings due the restrictions, we've also developed the School Camps at Home resource, with program coordinators providing video resources and activity sheets to assist parents in keeping their children active and entertained over the past months. The School Camps at home videos have been viewed over 15,000 times. The Office of Sport has achieved a social media reach of over 494,000 since implementing its COVID-19 social media strategy in mid-March.
Our High Performance at Home campaign aims to help everyday Australians maintain their physical and mental wellbeing, utilising the Institute's world class sporting expertise to provide tips, advice, and workout routines. Covering areas such as flexibility, strength, nutrition, and psychology, the Institute developed a dedicated webpage for campaign resources shortly after isolation measures came into effect, which has since enjoyed tremendous success with over 50,000 unique pageviews. It's exciting to know that organic reach for the campaign has surpassed 150,000 across social channels, and the response from all sections of the community has been overwhelmingly positive.
