NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer

Tony Chapman was appointed to the role of NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer (CCSO) in May 2019. The CCSO replaces the Government Chief Information Security Officer role which was established in early 2017.

A key component of the CCSO’s role is the provision of strategic advice to the NSW Government to drive a culture of risk management and awareness to support greater resilience to cyber security threats.

In this new role, Tony provides leadership and coordination to uplift whole-of-government (WoG) cyber security capabilities and awareness and assists effective decision-making across the NSW cyber security ecosystem.

To realise the vision of the new Customer Service Cluster, the CCSO will continue to work further strengthening ties across NSW, state and federal governments, identifying and harnessing best practice in cyber security to deliver better outcomes for citizens.
